Topic: Installation SMF / Portal / MOD Assistance

Hi.

So, after some brief debate, I have decided to give SMF and Portal a try for 2 of my sites.
However, I am not good with installation and modifications of things. Hopefully someone with a bit of patience wouldn't mind helping me get SMF installed, a theme and maybe some custom graphics and as well as some mods.

Feel free to just PM me and we can go from there.
(I am, however, a bit saddened to see there is no mod for foursquare ) which is why I first considered Joomla + SMF as there is a mod for foursquare with Joomla.

Edited - I found the theme topic for you. It's give you every step to install a theme on the forum.

Just make sure YOU install the SMF Version 20 theme. Because I have the wrong version in that topic so just make sure you grab the right version for the theme.  SMF and Portal Theme's will say that them can be install. Please donot install a plain SMF Version theme on your forum with your portal ok?

Make sure you grab the right version for the mod to install on your forum along with your version of forum.

I would also like to add that if you get a failure on any part of a package install through the package manager that you should NOT install the mod. This will/might render the board unusable. Plus if things are not going smooth for installs it might help to check if the packages folder is chmodded to 777 and that you have a temp folder inside that one also chmodded to 777. (On some servers 755 is fine)
