Havent got this far before and I'm now on SMF Upgrade Utility but sat at 2% overall progress for about 15 mins. Is this a slow proceedure or do you think somthing is wrong?

Edit: And oops, forgot to empty error log.

It depends on how big your site is and normally a continue button shows if it stops or it gives a timed out msg and says try again or similar cant remember exact words.

Thanks, no time out or messages, but I do have continue button, will try that.

 :dnc Ok looks like I've got a RC4 forum, took a while but its there.

The only immediate problem I see is when I click on a board my old custom theme is still there. Other than that I have a default RC4 portal & mod free forum it seems :cool .

Any ideas on that, maybe its a setting?

See if all the theme settings are right in the admin panel and in your profile. Reset everyone to the theme you want them to use. Glad it worked for you. :)

You can go to admin/configuration/theme & layout/settings and click the redX at the side of the theme you were using.

Then clear cache and you should be OK

Thanks, that did it. Seems I've got a few old themes in there, time to hit the X on those too. No errors in log either so far :)

Now its time for a new theme and some mods. (In other words, time to screw it up :) )

The advise has been great here guys and I will look back on it when its time to do the final gold SMF release... Whenever that may be.
