Topic: Where did this mod come from?

Hi,

I noticed that on this board when we want to add an image link, we get a dialogue box like on some other forum software instead of the usual  Plus the image shows up in this box without even a preview. I guess this is a WYSIWYG enhancement? Is this a mod that's available to us?

These features are in the wysiwyg editor by default. In the 1.1.x series of SMF there was a mod that would give you the pop up but I don;t think it has been maintained.

In what SMF version? I'm messing around with three RC2 test forums and they don't have it unless there's an option in the Admin CP that I missed.

Your talking about the popup for the url right. All you do to use that is typ in a word and highlight it and then press the add url button and put the url in. It is standard in SMF 2.0

That's weird, on mine all I get is the usual

:

[url]test[/url] which I would have to add

:

[url=http://mytld.com/]test[/url] I tried it on all three of them and they're all RC2.

I get the same because I turned off WYSIWYG because it messes up my browser.  This should be pulled out of WYSIWYG.

Thanks butchas, but I have WYSIWYG enabled on all three forums.

Have you tried to post a url here on this site to see what will happen. Maybe it is your browser. If it works here for you then we can narrow things down slightly.

Oh, OK, now I understand, sorry about that, sometimes I miss the obvious . Actually I got the below screenshot that I posted in my original post that started this thread from here. This is the first SMF forum that I've seen this feature on. The SMF Community forums don't even have it, I just checked.

Check your profile on that site and make sure all your options are set right. On this site I set most of the options for new members.

Oh wow! That's it, it works on all my forums now. So everyone has to edit their profile to enable the fancier WYSIWYG. I wish there was an easy way (without coding) to enable it automatically for all members by default. They could always disable if they wish.

You can make it default for all users in your themes options. There is a place to set options for all members and guests there.

Thanks again bigguy, I finally figured out how and where to set member options. I would go to the member options page and seeing a list of themes, I assumed (I know what assume stands for ) it was just to change members theme choices. I'm really thick sometimes. Thanks again bigguy.
