Ads showing up double
« on: July 18, 2009, 04:02:38 PM »
Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and looking for some help with the Ads Management mod v2.3.1. I upgraded SMF from v1.1.8 to v1.1.9 and then decided to upgrade the ads management mod to v2.3.1 and came across a problem. After doing the upgrades the ads were displaying twice on ANY page I told the ads to display. Searching the smfads.com forum I came across a (supposed) fix. There was duplicate code in the index.template.php file which I removed and the ads no longer appear twice. I thought the problem was fixed. Until I went into the admin section for ads management and the ad is still listed twice there. (see attached image) Deleting one of the duplicate ads deletes them both. Entering a new ad causes the ad to be listed twice, still doesn't display twice on any pages it's supposed to display. Its not a critical issue, just one of annoyance. The SMFADS.com forums don't seem to have a solution so I thought I'd ask for help here.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? I imagine it is duplicate code in one of the theme files but I have no idea where and really don't like to mess with someone's code unless I am sure of what I am doing. Oh yeah, this is using the SMF default theme, no fancy themes.

Check your code in your template files. Somewhere it is doubled up. :)

EDIT: maybe your index.php file.
