Yes. You can do this via cPanel, or in the Admin Panel of SMF. From there, you will be able to downloaded a zipped copy of your database.

Here's what I've gotten acomplished:

1) Installed the new 1.8 (Clean copy, no hacks in it)
2) I tried at first configuring it to the old database (didn't work because I tried using an already existing username so it wouldn't let me proceed and moderately locked up)
3) So I had to use the new database (keeping the old one in tact)
4) So the board existed and a new user was created (But all old accounts weren't there)
5) So I tried to use the Repair_settings.php to change everything to try to get it to take the old board (Via the main SMF help site =( and still no luck)

Now the entire board is screwed up, it knows the post count and members but the navigation's all screwed up and old posts are there but they wont show up when you go to the forums...

Is anyone willing to help me out on MSN / TeamView so I can get a possible faster response? I dont mean to be impatient but I'm just going crazy trying to get this and no one can tell how much of a struggle I'm in right now just by reading what I'm saying.
