Repair Settings Basic Tutorial

Introduction:
repair_settings.php is used to change some of the core settings SMF uses. It can change what database the forum will use, aswell as locations to themes and attachments and some other fancy things.
It is a good tool to use if you are moving forums from one place to another.

Uploading & Using Repair Settings:
repair_settings.php needs to be placed in your forums root directory. This is the location you have SMF installed in, it could be a subdomain called forum or smf. Or it could be in your hosting root folder on most hosts this is a folder called public_html.

Once it is uploaded you need to point your browser to it. For this tutorial I have it uploaded to a sub folder called smf on the site test.smfhelper.net.
So I need to point my browser to http://test.smfhelper.net/smf/repair_settings.php
