Topic: Signature contest #1

the rules to this small contest is this:

you do not have to be the one to design the sig, but if you are thats ok too..

you must show the sig off.. either attaching to a thread or using a host for images. DO NOT HOT LINK!!!

you must include 3 reasons why you think the sig is the worse best you have ever seen.

This contest will end on Sept 30, and judging will take place for the following week..
at the end of the week, the winner will be announced.. Fair enough?? Let the postings begin!! 

Note: please keep the entries to this thread.. any chat to take place, try to keep to a minimum.. thanks!!

Baseed mine of the danasoft sig.. been using it for awhile now.. the hitcounter is stored in a database and the modes are a series of includes.. rather tthan blow up the thread I'll go one background for each of the modes..

BG 2 (KDE Style) with Disabled Notice (A few sites accused me of hacking so I made this to let them know it was disabled )

 
BG3.. I just added my head on the thing.. think it was an ego trip and Random Quote (random displays one of 35 that are stored in an include file).

 
Also just for kicks did one for my xbox when I modded it and used the same 3 modes as above..
 

 
So.. just to recap (some people just dont get it) the image itself doesnt exist but generated from a phpscript on call and output display is determined by the switches used. Fonts and font colors are also dynamic I just use the one I have since I prefer its appearance

Hotlink means you shouldn't link the image to any other website. So you cannot post an image that is on imageshack or your own website. You need to attach them to your post.

Do I dare asume the hotlink precaution is so that later on through the ages people dont view a post with lil red Xs all over it? At least I'll make that assumption.. can ya remove my post then since technically my signature doesnt exist and the method I used is the only way to hang the thing

no image hosting is fine..

hot linking is when you have images that are tied directly to a website, and you link to that image here.

example:

one image on the page of http://www.msn.com and its linked to here: http://www.smfhelper.org

that is stealing bandwidth from another website.. and yeps i have always liked Harsh's dynamitc sigs

But it is the owner of another website who define solely
whether the remote links from outside to his site pages
is stealing of his bandwidth or just the aim of the site presence.

For example I upload pictures to my hosting
specially for linking to them from another forums.
And I place my posts on my forum
specially for global quoting them on another forums.

Hence why should anyone restrict himself from linking to my forum ?

How can the site owner (I for example)
announce on an other forum (smfhelper.info for example)
that the links directed to his forum (gri.sunshinehost.net for example)
         being placed in other forums posts (signatures)
are not _hot links and therefore should be avoided_
    but are "~cold links~ and therefore are welcome"
?

gri you have me lost on what you are trying to say.

if you have a sig and want to enter it, just up load it either to your site's ftp and then link it, or use a image host.. thing is, just have fun..

from what i understand, you want a dynamic sig that will change to the viewer name. google is your friend.

if you wish to put up a signature here, that is fine, if not, that is ok as well..
