OK...in fact your board needs to be rebuilt with a fresh set of files...currently it is a mix of several SMF versions. That alone would explain many different problems. I've sent you a PM listing others including some I wouldn't post publicly.

I will backup my data, and delete all the old files and install the latest version of SMF...

Yes there is a patch for 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 but there is a lot more wrong in those files than would be covered by that patch. There are old files left over from previous SMF versions that ought to have been replaced by previous patches but weren't...other files are simply mangled. By far the easiest solution is to replace the lot and start afresh with a clean set.

Only farmate is gif ONLY to upload "Smileys"
Ok, straight away I'm confused. What's "farmate"?
Do you mean that gif is the only format allowed when uploading smileys or is this some other technical term I don't know about?

: Shadow
You need to found the smileys zipfiles or you can use yours own for this too.

1 - Download the file on your computer and unzip that file to access all yours smileys. Log into your cpanel or ftp access you have.
2 - Then go to File Manager its will bring you up to all yours folders for your forum or whatever you have.  You will need to go to public_html folder yours home root then go to the Smileys folder.  Its should look like this / public_html / Smileys /
Where do I find the File Manager? I cant see it listed on the admin control panel.

3 - You will need to create a new folder in yours smileys folder.
How? Where?

Name the folder custom for yours smileys. Then go in that folder and upload yours smileys in that folder you name. Its should look like this / public_html / Smileys / custom /
4 - Now you will need to log into you admin panel on your forum.  Go to Smileys and Message Icons in you panel on your forum.
5 - Its will bring you up to a screen right.  You will see "new smiley set" ??? Hit that its will bring you up to a screen you will need to fill out.

Here its should look like

Before you fill it out

[attachthumb=3]

After you fill it out

[attachthumb=2]

6 - After you fille that screen out hit save and its will bring you up too a screen look like this.

[attachthumb=1]

7 - Now go over to "Add Smiley " and hit it too.  Will bring you up to a screen asking to pick your smileys from a drop down mena box also you will see "Add new smiley" on the secenod part ??? That will ask you to put in a code for that smiley to use on the forum.  Plus its will ask you for that smiley "Location" and you will see a drop down mena box will three picks.

Last Part is Hit save changes

Remember dont use the same code over and over.  You can add lots of smiley set you want too.  You can have yahoo, msn, aol ect for their own folder too.
Ok. That bit makes sense to me.

What do you need explained. ??? Get some smilies from somewhere and have them on your desktop ready. Next... go into the Smileys Directory in your SMF install and make a new folder. Then ftp the smilies from your desktop to the new folder you made in the Smileys  directory.

Next go to the admin panel of your SMF install to the Smileys and Message Icons part and in the drop down you should see the folder you created. :)

The Smileys directory is in your forum root...the forum root also includes the Settings.php file. You would get to it via use of a file manager on your hosting or via an ftp client...a piece of software used to halp manage your site...I recommend Filezilla.

 The systems within your forum allow you to manage your smileys quite well without need of going to the directory so please review them first.

Ok, let's see if I have this straight. I've got the admin centre up in another tab. Are you saying that if I simply direct link to a smiley at, for instance, Smiley Jungle by using the "upload new smiley" option it'll be cool?

Not quite...download the smiley to your local machine then upload from there to your site. You will then need to allocate it to a set of keypresses and to at least one smiley set...it's all fairly straitforward if you follow the layout in the ACP. You have to first allow "Enable Customised Smileys" in the settings...then go to "Add Smiley"...that gives the upload system etc.

No go. Default and classic can't be selected, which means I can't provide a path. They're not writeable.
